If you register for a seminar, for example, the information is used to reserve your seat, to track your preferences, and to keep you informed about the seminar and related events. As a visitor to our sites, you can engage in many activities without providing any personal information. In connection with other activities, such as utilizing registering for a seminar or participating in a sweepstakes, we may ask you to provide certain information about yourself by filling out and submitting an online form. It is completely optional for you to engage in these activities. If you elect to engage in these activities, however, we may ask that you provide us personal information, such as your first and last name, mailing address (including ZIP code), e-mail address, telephone, credit card, and other personal information. If you do not provide the mandatory data with respect to a particular activity, you will not be able to engage in that activity. As stated above, when you register with VIDA as a subscriber or customer, we may also collect the personal information that you submit, such as your name, address, email address, credit card numbers, location, etc. (“Registration Information”).

We may also collect non-Registration Information from our users, including the number of downloads on the site, metadata found in comments or captions from the user and profile changes. VIDA may use outside third party credit card processing companies to bill you for your purchases, which may in some instances include the storage of your personal information by the third party, such as your credit card number.

We may use “cookies” to better facilitate the use of our online and mobile environments. You may remove or block cookies using your browser settings, but this may also negatively impact your ability to use our platform.

VIDA may utilize Non-Personal Information for certain general purposes, such as to customize content and advertising, improve services, provide generic research and reporting to internal and external parties.

Please note that if you give out personal information online through a discussion board or posting site, that information can be collected and used by third parties. Although we strive to protect our users’ privacy, we cannot guarantee the security of information you post in these forums. You disclose such information at your own risk.

Purchases

Purchases of products or services from us will require personally identifiable information such as name, address, email address and credit card information. This information is used for billing purposes only, and we may contact you to address any problems associated with fulfilling your order. VIDA does not store or maintain any credit card information. VIDA uses third party service providers, such as credit card processing companies to process purchases made on our site.

Other Sites

In addition, our website may occasionally contain links to other sites. If you click on these links, you leave the VIDA site and we are not responsible for the content or the security of your personal information when using the other site. These sites may have their own privacy policies governing the storage and retention of your personal information. If you interact with other social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, your personal information shared and your information will be governed by the policies of those other service providers.

VIDA DOES NOT KNOWINGLY COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13. IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 13, YOU MUST NOT USE THIS WEBSITE OR ANY RELATED APPLICATIONS. PLEASE DO NOT SEND PERSONAL INFORMATION INCLUDING YOUR EMAIL, NAME AND/OR CONTACT INFORMATION. ANY CONTACT WITH VIDA MUST ONLY OCCUR THROUGH YOUR PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN. IF WE LEARN THAT INFORMATION HAS BEEN COLLECTED FROM SOMEONE UNDER THE AGE OF 13, WE WILL DELETE IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO INFORM US OF ANYONE ON THE SITE THAT IS UNDER THE AGE OF 13.

We strongly recommend that anyone between the ages of 13 and 18, request permission from their parent or legal guardian prior to registering or providing any personal information with VIDA.

How Your Information is Used

Only a select number of authorized personnel are authorized to access our servers. We may retain your personal information for as long as is required to fulfill our business objective and for as long as is required by legal requirements.

Additionally, the personal information collected by VIDA may be stored and processed in a country other than your home country, and such other country may have privacy laws that are less protective than those in effect in your home country. By providing us with your personal information and using the VIDA site, you are consenting to any such transfer of information outside of your home country.

We have taken certain security protections in safeguarding your personal information. However, as with most electronic transactions, no method is 100% safe. While we strive to use a commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its security. Therefore, VIDA assumes no liability regarding the theft, loss, alteration or misuse of personal or other information, including without limitation such information that we have provided to third parties, or with regards to the failure of a third party to abide by the privacy policy or agreement between VIDA and a third party.

On rare occasions, VIDA may be required to disclose your personal information due to legal or regulatory requirements. In such instances, we reserve the right to disclose your personal information as required in order to comply with VIDA’s legal obligations, including but not limited to, complying with court orders, warrants, subpoenas, service of process requirements, or discovery requests.

Notification of Changes

We reserve the right to change this Policy from time to time, and at our sole discretion. You should make note of the “last updated date” at the beginning of this Policy. With this information, you should be able to identify if the Policy has been updated recently.

Disputes

Any disputes regarding your privacy are subject to this Privacy Policy and VIDA’s Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to any provisions related to indemnification, limitations on damages, and choice of law.
